Legal advocate and former inspector Beauregard is asked to join the group who are traveling to Meerhaven in the Principality of Wildomar to ask the son of the late duke’s exiled brother to take his role as the new Duke of Lakehurst. In secret, he is being asked to investigate suspicions that Duke Alfred was poisoned.
